2009 saw Sussex sailors sailing in the Police National Sailing championship with Bob Trevis winning the Maiden Trophy, the Dorset Open at Poole with Mike Scrivener placed fourth and the Sussex Open at Bexhill where the first and second places were taken by Sussex Police members
